Wherever you're flying from, you'll be heading to Mangalore International Airport (IXE), the closest airport to Bekal. From most cities, that means a flight into Mumbai, Delhi, or Bangalore, followed by a domestic connection to Mangalore. You'll find detailed routes on our Travel page.

We're hosting our guests across two beautiful properties: Taj Bekal and Gateway. Your accommodation has been thoughtfully assigned, and you'll receive details about where you're staying along with your invitation. Both are lovely, and everything for the celebration will be easy to reach from either.

Most travellers from outside India will need a visa to enter. India offers an e-Visa for tourism that's simple to apply for online, and we'd recommend sorting it out well in advance of your trip. Be sure to check the specific requirements for your country of citizenship.

Warm and tropical. Expect daytime temperatures around 30°C (mid-80s°F), with pleasant, cooler evenings. November falls at the tail end of the monsoon season, so a passing shower is possible, but mostly you can look forward to sunshine. Pack light, breathable clothing and something a little warmer for the evenings.

Our celebration spans multiple events, each with its own mood, from festive daytime functions to a formal evening reception. We'll be sharing a full outfit guide closer to the date with suggestions for each one. In the meantime, think color, comfort, and warm weather. If you'd like to wear Indian attire, we'd love that, and the guide will have ideas whether or not this is familiar territory for you.

We'd recommend arriving in India a few days before the celebrations begin. It's a wonderful chance to shake off the jetlag and settle into the pace before the festivities. A full schedule is coming soon so you can plan your travel around the right dates.

Come early or stay later if you can! The wedding will be in Kerala or "God's Own Country." Right by the venue, Bekal has calm beaches and a 300-year-old seaside fort looking out over the Arabian Sea. A few hours south, Kumarakom sits on Vembanad Lake, where you can rent a houseboat and sail through the backwaters with (the yummiest) meals cooked onboard. Up in the Western Ghats, Munnar is cool and green and blanketed in tea plantations, with old estates to tour and Eravikulam National Park nearby if you want a couple of quiet days away from the heat!

If you fly into Delhi, the Golden Triangle is the classic loop. Delhi has the towering Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, markets like Dilli Haat and legendary Mughal cuisine at Karim's. Agra is home to the Taj Mahal (go early!). Jaipur, the picture-perfect "Pink City," has hilltop Amber Fort and the honeycomb windows of the Hawa Mahal and all the textiles you could dream of!

For my city girls, Mumbai is the spot, housing the Gateway of India, sunset walks along Marine Drive, the cave temples on Elephanta Island, and great food and bars around Bandra. If you want to finish with a few days on the beach, Goa is a short flight from both Mumbai and Kerala, equal parts old Portuguese churches, seafood shacks, and sand, livelier in the north and quieter in the south. You can't go wrong! Wander, eat well, and see what you can. We are so grateful for you all traveling so far!
